Legal Question in Technology Law in California

Music Download

Is it legal for an internet cafe to charge a fee for users when they download music from its computers, even though the customer also pays itunes (for instance) for the right to download the songs. The internet cafe says it charges for the rent of the cable to connect the computer to my ipod (it charges a flat fee, it doesnt charge per song).

Re: Music Download

It's perfectly legal. You used both the cafe's services and iTunes'. Why should paying one of these service providers require the other one to serve you for free? Why would anyone open an internet cafe if their customers wouldn't have to pay?

They provide the access and that has to be paid for by someone.
