Legal Question in Technology Law in California

Online purchase fraud - What can I do?

My husband recently made a purchase for a prescription through an online U.S. pharmacy, due to the reduced cost.

He has a valid prescription , but they never asked him for this information.

The total purchase was $200

It was to be sent asap via DHL Ground service from Florida...It's now six weeks later & still nothing! He has called & sent many emails & they just keep sending back apologies/ lots of excuses.

When he finally threatened them with calling the police & his credit card co, they sent an email confirmation saying that it had been sent & gave him a DHL tracking number. He spent the next 7 days with DHL on the phone trying to find out where the package was. DHL kept telling him that it was en route from Florida.

Eventually, they sent him an email to notify him that the sender had made an online request/transaction to obtain a tracking number, but the shipment was never picked up by DHL!

Obviously, this is a scam, but we don't know how to handle this or what our rights are.

We've demanded our money back & threatened to file a report & take them to small claims court; we've also contacted DHL's fraud dept. to report the incident.

What else can we do? Who can we contact to track these people down? Please help!
