I purchased a used computer on ebay for my daughter as a birthday gift. When she opened up the computer it contained pornography with videos of seller. is this illegal

It's not illegal to be an idiot and take porn videos of yourself and leave them on your computer. There would be no way to prove he intentionally shipped the computer intending for the porn to be viewed by an unwitting child. Maybe he was hoping the purchaser of his computer would be a Hollywood agent and would discover his unique talents. While I can think of a dozen fun pranks to play on the guy, if I were you I would just format the hard disk and reinstall the operating system.
