Legal Question in Technology Law in California

I have several security cameras that monitor ( and record on motion detection) the outside of the house ( back yard, front porch).

Do I need to post anything saying there are cameras ( trades people and gardeners come and go) ?

I don't think you're legally required to post anything, because no one has a reasonable expectation of privacy while traversing the outside of your property. California law does prohibit video or audio monitoring or recording of employee changing areas. Posting a sign might deter misbehavior. Your visitors will appreciate knowing they should leave the premises if they want to scratch their ears..
