Legal Question in Technology Law in California
We're thinking about creating a program to automate the game "RuneScape" and we're wondering if it is legal. We are not decrypting any of their files, but are using their game. We understand that their rules in the game for automation is banning, but we're curious what the legal standpoint on this is.
We are not using any of their images or copyrights in our work.

Probably illegal, based on a line of decisions holding that buying, modifying and then reselling a product is illegal without permission.
