Legal Question in Technology Law in California
Threats on the internet
I was on a search engine/forum and i had typed in a search to find numerous videos on a variety of beaches. Among the list of beach videos i accidentally
opened a file named ''15 year old nude on beach'' this was completely by accident and i only clicked on it because it was near a file that i initially wanted to open. When i opened this file i was shocked to see that the person is claiming that i have broken the law on child pornography and that he/she would use my IP number to contact my ISP and to get me in trouble with the police. Since that day i have feared that the police were going to break my door in and arrest me. Does that person have any basis to get me in trouble and what should i do to protect myself since i didnt even do anything wrong?
