Legal Question in Technology Law in California

web page deletion

While searching thru genealogy sites I ran across a surname web page that was illicit and erotic, my friend's son had done the page and several genealogists have come across it much to his embarassment. He contacted the site mgr. to be told his son was 33 and legally there was nothing he could do to remove it. Please inform us how to get this site deleted.

Re: web page deletion

The obvious answer is contact the friends son and tell him to remove it. He probably will not.

Next step, contact the local authorities and complain of an illegal pornographic website run from their jurisdiction. I wonder if it is really pornographic...probably not.

Next, file suit for defamation assuming family members are being depicted in defamatory manner. That might work, as the friend's son then must defend or lose.

If friend's son is determined to do this, it will be tough to stop. The internet is quite lawless in many respects.
