Legal Question in Technology Law in California

My wife hacked into my craigslist account and my email account and made copies of everything. now she is blackmailing me to give her everything she wants in the divorce or she will go to court with the information as well as "going public". I have done nothing criminal but I still dont want it public and she says it will affect my child visitation schedule. What can be done?

She's attempting to commit extortion. If you have a lawyer, tell him what's going on. He may be able to get a restraining order against her, and may even be able to do it without making a public record of what your wife is threatening you with. If you don't have a lawyer, now would be a good time to get one.
