Legal Question in Constitutional Law in California

Catalogs

This is probably a dumb question but I have asked a company I used to deal with to stop sending me their catalogs. They continue to send them to me and I have called time and time again, and e-mailed them and they still keep sending them. I have a teenage son and don't want him seeing these catalogs. They sell knives, weapons, etc. Am I allowed to take legal action on them if they don't stop sending me their mailings?

Re: Catalogs

For "sexually oriented" ads there is a federal law allowing you to stop them (contact the U.S. Postal Service for more info). Otherwise, there may be little that you can do. If your teenage son is indeed susceptible to buying knives, weapons, or other merchandise you would rather he didn't, merely stopping a couple of mailed catalogs isn't going to deter him. You would have to install a web filter programmed to lock out eBay and 10,000 other internet sites.
