Legal Question in Constitutional Law in California
Claims of Religious Personage
I have an issue at work that involves my stating that I am ''the lord jesus christ, your savior''. This is taken offensively by some people; however, I am not a Christian.
Because this is of a religious nature, can I be sued for making the claim? Does this fall under the rights of 'public figure' and 'parody'? Is this covered by the first amendment even though I am in a workplace?
I could really use some help defending my position that I can legally make this claim without being sued.
