Legal Question in Constitutional Law in California

My school i in swim unit. I don't swim for many reasons. They mark you down even if you dress out in PE clothes. In order to make this up they make you go to after school PE make up. I don't have time for this and was wondering if there is a legal way i could get out of this with out swiming or going to PE make-up.

Go to the principal and see if you and your parents can convince him/her to let you out of swimming. Make a list for yourself as to all the reasons you do not swim and present those.
