Legal Question in Constitutional Law in California

I work for a pretty big restaurant corporation and recently they set me (just me) down and told me I wasn't allowed to talk about work or say anything about employment or not liking my job on facebook. I had to sign something saying I wouldn't talk about anything related to work. I did not mention my company name on my page or in my comments. Also no where on my profile does it say I work for them. Also, they knew exactly what I had said even though my entire profile is private. I was wondering if they violated any rights. Thank you

You're lucky the information you voluntarily posted online wasn't bad enough to get you fired. Do you really want to bet your job on some web site's promise to keep your profile "private"?? As I understand it, unless you are a Facebook expert it's easy to set your permissions incorrectly and the default is to make everything public. I have no idea whether your rights were violated, because I don't know what you posted to Facebook, and what you "had to" sign.
