Legal Question in Construction Law in California
2 1/2 years ago, I bought my house from a mortgage company. They remodeled and installed new items all through the house before I purchased it. About 2 weeks ago, a tile fell off my shower wich revealed massive amounts of mold growing behind the wall. Apparently, there was no waterproof backing behind the tiles because they were just put onto the drywall. Constant shower water hitting these tiles caused the back end to mold and become decrepit. My insurance wont cover this due to it being faulty workmanship. What can I do legally about this situation?

If your house is less than ten years old, and you can track them down, and they are still in business, you can sue the builder and any subcontractors involved. Unless you think the mortgage company and/or any real estate agents or brokers involved might have had knowledge of it or should for some reason have known, you don't have a case against them.
