Legal Question in Construction Law in California

My 3 yr old home has stucco cracks and other defects related to the construction of the home. I have been approached by an attorney to be part of a class action suit that I am willing to participate. I have to turn in a copy of my grand deed to used as part of my evidence. Is this safe practice for me giving someone a copy of my grand deed?

Yes. Giving someone a copy of your deed is perfectly safe. Anyone can go to the recorder's office and purchase a copy of it for a couple bucks.

I meant to add to my previous answer that it is more important to satisfy yourself that the attorney or his or her firm are reputable and experienced and likely to do a good job of handling the case. Look at their web site, ask questions about their experience in construction-defect class actions, and check their records on the California State Bar website, www.calbar.ca.gov.
