Architect & Engineer fees
Inital $2,986 A&E fee were paid and additional invoicing for resubmits and revision added an incremental $983. Is there a limit to how much these fees can exceed? It doesn't appear so from the agreement and there is no back up for the fees...

These fees are freely negotiated and are governed by the terms of the contract. You are well within your rights to request a breakdown to make sure are billed properly. It is not uncommon for architects and engineers to bill on an hourly basis if there is not flat fee that has been agreed upon.
