Legal Question in Construction Law in California

The company I owned that was incorporated for 30 years has filed for bankruptcy and I'm being sued personally for $94,000 beyond that of the corporate bond. The corporate veil was never breached. Other suits are beginning to come in that appear bogus appear to require representation. Is there a way to stop these shakedowns?

Unfortunately, if you are served with a lawsuit you must respond. The worst thing you can do is ignore it. The second worst thing you can do is try to represent yourself. Even if you are not liable, you will be at a great disatvantage against an experienced attorney for the opposing party. You need an attorney. If a lawsuit filed against you truly has no merit, you may have a claim for malicious prosecution. But you have to prevail in the underlying case first before you can sue for malicious prosecution.
