Legal Question in Construction Law in California
I am a Contractor, I built a home for a couple. One year and one month after the home was completed a plumbing fitting started leaking, the homeowners insurance says it was improperly installedand damaged the cabinets. I had insurance during construction and 6 months after. Shouldn't my insurance cover the damages?

You need to see whether your insurance was a "claims made" or "occurrence" type policy, and if the former, whether you purchased so called "tail" coverage. I suggest also that you go on the Internet using Google to look up "claims made insurance" and read about how it differs from "occurrence" policies.
Most contractors liability policies do not cover defective work. The damage to the cabinets might be covered. It's impossible to give any reliablie answer, however, without reviewing he policy and the damage/defects. Have you tendered the claim to your carrier and been rejected? If not, start by tendering the claim.
