Legal Question in Construction Law in California
I am a contractor who did a job for someone based on an oral agreement and now he is threatening to
sue me for breach of contract. He is misrepresenting the terms of our agreement. should I respond to
this or not.

Not enough facts to give any kind of reliable answer. You know, of course as a licensed contractor, that it is a violation of the contractors license law not to provide a written contract, right? That doesn't make it unenforceable, though. That's all I can tell you based on what you have given.
