Legal Question in Construction Law in California

Contractor's License

My contractor's license previously expired. I need a C-8 or B license to perform work. I have applied to take the test, but it is a four month wait. I'm looking for someone that has an inactive license that will turn it into a partnership license & activate it until I get my license from the State Is this okay?

Re: Contractor's License

I'd say one of the prerequisites to it being okay is the existence of a bona fide partnership with the other licensee....and I'd be REALLY cautious about becoming a partner with a stranger.

Even if you overcome this obstacle by finding, and checking out, the ideal partner, there may be other issues with the CSLB, tax ID numbers, insurance coverage, etc. that I'm unable to comment on.
