Contracts Content Disclosure Laws
Is there any laws that prohibit--name removed--general contractor from disclosing details (either orally or the actual hardcopy signed paper contract) to nosy inquiring neighbors?
Our GC who left us high & dry & unfinished...ironically is on--name removed--jobsite for our neighbors. We think it is possible they made him an offer for more money & knew our contract wasn't very well written....bought him off our job to work for them.
Isn't this illegal...if not it should be!

Without more information and background it will be hard for me to answer this question. It sounds like this could either:
1) Be perfectly ok under your circumstances as a freedom of speech issue; or
2) Possibly be a breach of contract and/or tortuous interference with contract issue.If the neighbors interfered with your contract with your contractor and this caused you damaged then you may have a claim against them. Also if your contractor left you "high & dry" and did not finish the job, then you certainly have a claim against him.

This my qualify for something like tortious interference with a contract but we'd have to know more. You can contact our CA attorney regarding this.
