Legal Question in Construction Law in California
Im a electrical contractor and recenlty pulled off a job because of payment issues, when i returned to the job site i saw that another electrician had finished the job. the client said if i release all my liens that he will pay me in full, but my concern is this, if something happens say an electrical fire and its because of the other electrician i dont want to be held liable for the other contractors mistake, how can i protect my self, can i i do a release of liability, what type of release of liability and where can i get one?

You are wise to ask for a release of liability along with your final payment. If I was advising the owner, however, I would tell them under no circumstances to give one unless it could be taylored to a clear demarkation between your work and the other contractor's work. If it is possible to define where your work ends and the other work begins, you could have an attorney draft up a customized release to deal with this. If it is not possible, then you are going to have to see what you can negotiate with the owner. In either case there is no form release you can just look up or go buy that will fit your situation.
