Is it possible to find an attorney to take a construction related case on a contingency basis and front the court costs on a case they feel they can win?

Probably not, as those can be relatively expensive cases and your are asking someone in the business of practicing law to put up thousands of dollars and wait for 12-18 months before seeing any return on it.. I would suggest you re-post your question but give more details so that an attorney can see if it is the type of case he/she might be able and interested in handling.
I wouldnt. Even if I thought it was a case with a good chance of winning, risking my own money instead of getting paid is an entirely different matter.

Extremely unlikely, especially the part about fronting all the costs. If you're a contractor, you should have the wherewithal to pay for at LEAST the costs and expenses. Otherwise, there's a pretty good chance your business is in disarray and there is little chance of winning the case. If you're the owner, if you have the money to fund a construction job with enough at stake in the problems on the job to pay an attorney a contingency fee worth the time and effort, again you should have the money to at least pay the costs and expenses or there is good reason to doubt your case.
It would also be helpful to specify in which county the litigation would be filed and prosecuted. Someone mnight be willing to take the case in a courthouse 15 miles from their office, but would have no interest if the litigation would be 500 miles away.
