Legal Question in Construction Law in California
My home caught of fire in 2015. I hired a general contractor and work begin in April 2016. Before I moved into my home , I had informed the contractor on many things which need to be completed, needless to say nothing was done, and now the contractor has refuse to give me and receipts, and warranties on work completed, needless to say I have moved back in my home as of Jan 2017, and found so many more things incomplete and done unprofessional. I had a plumber come out yesterday due to no hot water in the on suite, luke warm water in the guess bathroom. The plumber had to literally cut the handle off due to the contractor gluing the shower handle on, once the handle was removed, he found a lead in the pipe, and shower head is not attached steady to the wall, he has informed me that to repair I would need to hire a contractor to remove the sheet rock behind the shower wall. There is so much more , but really need advice on seeking a lawyer to sue this contractor asap !. please advise?

You absolutely need to consult with an experienced construction attorney. That really is about all I can tell you. Construction cases are complex. So even a preliminary evaluation of your case would require an in person meeting, with at least the construction contract to review. I have 30 years of construction litigation experience, and my last job for an employer before going out on my own, was lead Construction Counsel on the San Francisco Intl. Airport general counsel's staff. My main office is in San Francisco, but I have facilities in Walnut Creek, and I am there regularly. If you would like to make an appointment for a consultation, you can email [email protected] and they will let you know what dates I could meet with you there.
