Legal Question in Construction Law in California
Mechanics Lien
Property owner is a LP that owns a shopping mall. Jewelry store is a tenant of the mall. Jewelry store contracts with general contractor to remodel store. Jewelry store does not pay and general contractor wants to record lien. Should general contractor have served a CA Preliminary 20 Day Notice? If general contractor did not, does he have lien rights?

Re: Mechanics Lien
Did Property Owner (LP) post a notice of non-responsibility??? If yes, then you can only lien leae interest; If no, then you can lien entire property. If you are the general contractor, no 20 Day notice required.
