Legal Question in Construction Law in California

Hello, I'm a newly licensed plumbing contractor in California and I am using invoices as contracts. Can the invoice become a legal binding contract? Second, if a "waiver of right to cancel" is signed does that have to be on a separate sheet, or could it be in the invoice.

An invoice can reflect a contract but it cannot really be one, since the agreement to do the work and pay for it had to occur before you issue the invoice, right? More importantly, though, an invoice whenever issued is not going to comply with the requirements of the Business and Professions code. You really need to go back to your license exam prep materials on Contractor Law, and/or spend some time on the CSLB website to familiarize yourself with the requirements for content of contracts between licensed contractors and customers. Otherwise you may find your license in jeopardy.
