Legal Question in Construction Law in California

using my picture for profit

I was at a dance event competing and someone took my picture and publish in a calendar for profit without my consent. Can he do that?

No. However you may have signed a release unknowingly if there was a contract regarding the competition. Then you'd have to deal with a possible defense. Contact me directly.

No; this is a tort (civil wrong) with a name something like "misappropriation of name or likeness" and you can sue for his profits and perhaps more. However, this question has nothing to do with construction law and should be re-asked under the correct topic heading to get more and better answers.
