Legal Question in Construction Law in California
I understand that there is the "right to repair" law or S.B. 800, wondering what the options are when you have no faith or trust that your hired contractor will be able to effectively fix the issues his faulty construction has caused in a timely manner. Furthermore, my concerns are based on the fact that during this entire construction process, other issues that were brought to his attention we're in no way handled accordingly. Essentially his fix was to "slap lipstick on a pig", for lack of a better analogy.

SB 800 only applies to new construction where the homeowner buys from the builder. It has no application to repair or remodeling work, or even where you hire a contractor to build a custom home.
