Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
What action can i take when an auto dealer placed an ad in the newspaper and the ad agency incorrectly prints the ad? I suggested that they should honor the ad and the auto dealer should take it up with the ad agency.

Please send me an email and let me know what car company, what dealership, and describe exactly what happened. I am investigating similar cases for class action lawsuits - and your case may be appropriate.

The law states that an ad is actually an invitation for the public to make and offer that the dealer can accept or reject. The ad does not create an offer to create a contract.
Sometime Bakondi's answers make me wonder if he got his license in a Cracker Jack box. Marman is right. Every law student who goes to a real law school reads a case in first-year Contracts class about exactly the same circumstances only involving a fur coat sale. Ads are invitations to offers, not offers themselves.
