Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
auto lease contract
i just leased a vehicle from Honda for a term of 36 months and 36,000 miles. the lease specifies .15cent/mile charge on miles over 36,000.
i received a call from dealer's finance office a week later stating that Honda rejected the lease because the excess mileage charge should have been .20cent/mile. dealer says it was their error and wants me to sign an amended agreement.
am i obligated to accept a higher excess mileage charge?
additionally, Honda says .20cent/mi on vehicles with MSRP $30,000. sticker on my vehicle is $29,745 MSRP. it's the destination & handling charge that puts it over $30,000. dealer says that's just the way it is.

Re: auto lease contract
No you do not have to agree to the new amounts (but check the contract and see if they can change it when it goes for acceptance). You should be able to return the vehicle, get your money back or negotiate some other benefits in exchange for the increase exess mileage.
