Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Auto Lease Termination Problems

I turned in my leased auto to the dealer where I purchased my new car.

The lease company (Wells Fargo) is trying to charge me $100 for "transportation" to their facility. My contract does NOT itemize a transportation fee (although it does have an "other official fees" statement. Also, it does NOT specify drop off locations or make any statements concerning drop offs. I did return it to the same dealership conglomerate (same owner, different city)that I purchased it at. After contacting the lease company, they said Oh, you have one of those contracts. We have new ones now, but it must be in there somewhere. They do not take or return my calls and I am now past the lease company imposed date to settle the account.

Also, they are trying to charge me for "dings", 5 at$60 ea. I dispute that there were any dings, especially with their criteria of 1". The termination document made no mention of measurements.

They do not take or return my calls and I am now past the lease company imposed date to settle the account.

What should I dod and how can I effectively dispute these bogus charges?

Re: Auto Lease Termination Problems

The way you dispute these charges is you don't pay them. In order for them to collect, it is their responsibility to prove that you are obligated to pay these charges.
