Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Auto repair shop problem

I went to a auto repair shop to have a flat tire fixed. When I picked up my car I've seen a deep scratch onto the wheel I had the flat fixed. It was close to where they took the old weight out. When I asked the shop manager to look at the scratch he said that his employees didn't report any accidental scratches and it couldn't have happened in his shop.

I would like to know what are my options for having the wheel repaired or replaced. It is an aluminum wheel and it is not very cheap to replace or fix.

Send them a demand letter with a photo of the gash. Send it certified, return receipt, and keep a copy. That way, they can submit it to their insurance carrier, although the deductible probably is more than the rim is worth. If that doesn't work, then you might file a small claims lawsuit and hope to prove your case.

if you are fairly certain that the shop caused the damage, you should: 1) sent a demand letter for negotiated out of court settlement first and foremost. if they are non-responsive, then 2) file your claim with the evidence you need to prove your case. if you would like very affordable assistance on one or both parts here, contact us today.
