Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

I am a consumer with bad credit and purchased a auto with a $1500 down payment and signed a contract with a promise on my part to pay $349 a month until the year 2008.then i get a call saying that i had to give the car back.there was a clause saying if they could not get me financed i would give the car back.is there anyway around this.i had the car almost a month.How can they specify my payments or have me drive away if they didn't have anything finalized.thanks???????????

This is legal. However, you are entitled to all that you paid down. The $1500 plus any payments plus any trade in. They are not allowed to charge you for any use of the car.
