Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Automobile purchase contract

Two years ago I purchased a car from a dealer who also set up the financing. Unknown to me, the dealer added on a $2000 ''service contract'' before I signed the final papers. I did not notice the add-on as I was focused on the monthly payment. The add-on was recently brought to my attention and I am in shock. Yes, I should have read the contract more closely but I trusted the salesman. Do I have any recourse or any way out of the add-on?

Thank you,

Re: Automobile purchase contract

You were likely defrauded. What was the name of the dealership? Many times dealerships will slip in extra charges because the monthly payment they negotiated was actually too high. So they add in costs to get the financing at that monthly payment.
