Bill collection for a paid bill
Back in 1997 A car company and myself agreed to a payoff on a vehicle.They sent me the pink slip and i then sold the vehicle.Now im getting letters from collectors to pay off $800.00 that they say i owe on the vehicle.Do i owe that money?Are they harrassing me?

If you paid the car off in 1997 and the creditor sent you the pink slip, you do not owe the money by virtue of at least: 1) an accord and satisfaction; and 2) the expiration of the statute of limitations, which for contracts in California is 4 years for a written contact (the original contact between you and the "car company"); the statute of limitations ran in 2001 (1997 - 2005 = 8 years.
