Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Bill of Sale vs. Cancelled Check for sale of horses

I purchased horses for a friend I lived with as an investment...he has the Bill of sale for the horses and I have the cancelled checks. He has taken them off the property to another location and plans to sell them. Do I have any right to get my money back? We had a verbal agreement. Thank you very much, Monte.

Yes, it sounds like you do. If the amount is $7,000 or less, you can sue in small claims court. If the amount is more than that, you will need to hire an attorney.
