All cars when manufactured have a VIN number stamped onto a metal strip afixed to the dashboard or some other location that is easy to find. That VIN number remains wlith that car forever. I know of no good reason that they took the car from you. If the car is in that bad shape, write the dealer a letter telling him that since he has taken the car away from you and wil not respond to your calls, you demand a full refund of the money you paid. He has committed the tort of converion [taking someone's property]; he might also be at fault for fraud. Give him 5 business days to send you the money or and tell him if you do not get it by then you will have to sue in Small Claims Court, and you will sue not only for the purchase price but the loss of use of the vehicle at whatever a similar car would rent for, etc. Later, you might want to report him to the Better Business Bureau and to the State.
Perhaps they have stolen it from you. I would call the police, and see if they will do anything for you .If that doesn't work you will have to sue them for conversion. You probably could report him to the DMV as they license car dealers and they may be able to help.
Sorry to hear about you evil used car dealer and good luck in getting your car back.
