Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I bought a car from a private party. The person lied about the defects of the car as well as it having a clean carfax report. I found out the car had been a total loss through carfax. Also the person gave me the old pinkslip to the car. We signed on a contract that the person had to give me the new title/pinkslip by 07/06/11, which he never did. I also have another contract that only i have a copy of. In it he signed saying the only problems were a,b, and c. He texted me saying he would pay me back but now he is ignoring all my contact attempts. Do I have a case for small claims court? I am in california

If the amount in dispute is $7500 or less, it sounds like a classic small claims case.
