Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I bought a car on the 14th of March. I received a letter today stating they are recinding contract because of financing...it is 2 days after the 10 days on the back of the contract. I will call them tomorrow. What do I say to them? All is perfect on my contract with me. Letter is postmarked 24th (11 days) Letter was certified sent and signed today the 25th. Neither dates is 10 days. What do I do?

What they are attempting is called a "yo-yo sale," a common scam in which you would be called in and told you had to pay more in financing. But they missed the 10 days, like you said. For $100 I would be happy to write the dealer a letter on my letterhead telling them to go pound sand, and promising a lawsuit if they were to now do something stupid like repo your ride. On your end, you are going to have to be able to prove you make every payment on time -- get a bank check payable to the dealer for each payment, and send it certified mail RRR five days before it is due.
