Break apartment lease
Can a person who is renting an apartment break their lease due to black mold? Would they have to pay a penalty? Would they have to find someone to sublet their apartment under these circumstances?

Black mnold by its self is not a reason to break a lease. You have to notify the landlord and then if nothing is done, then the lease is broken by not keeping the apartment in a habitable condition.
