Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
If You Break Something In A Store
If you accidently break something in a store can the merchant make you pay for the item or keep the money you have paid for another item and not give you the item that you really paid for? There was a sign that said do not touch but my son touched it anyway and broke it.

Re: If You Break Something In A Store
Yes, if you break something in store as a result of your negligence you have to pay for it. Who else did you think would be responsible?
