Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Bring back used furntiure after 3 weeks

After twice seeing pre-owned cabinets for a mail & parcel type of store, the person agreed to buy the cabinets and left a deposit for them. After arranging a time to pick up the cabinets, the customer paid the balance in full and left with the cabinets. Three weeks later the customer is asking for a full refund because the color and size isnt what she thought it was after getting them into the store. We offered to buy back the cabinets minus a 20% restocking fee and have them returned in the shape in which they had left. She is now taking us to small calims court for $5,000.00 which is $900.00 over the purchase price. It was in good faith we even offered to buy back the cabinets. She does not want to settle out of court. My question is what is her chances?

Probably not very good. Unless your contract calls for a refund policy or something along that line, she is probably not entitled to return the items in question. In no case will she get a judgment for more than she paid.
