Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Both my brother and my name are on the title of a house, now Citi's lawyer is suing me for credit card debt. They told me that all they want is to get a judgement and attach the lien to my house. Can they do that even I am only one of the owners of the house? Can they sell my house without my brother's coopration? If they sell my house besides paying the mortgage holder and HELOC lender, does Citi need to pay my brother also before paying themselves? I am quite surprised they sue me because they know I only have benefit income that is exempt from garnishment and I don't even have a bank account.

Consult a bankruptcy lawyer in person, well before they get a judgment.
