Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

what can i do?

I was going to buy a used car from a family member of my boss. He were promised that if i stayed with in the 6500 dollar range he could keep my payments around 100 dollars a month on the way stuck in traffic we gave the info on the phone for the credit check, not knowing what my credit sit. was. He then asked me again around what was the payments i was looking for i told him no more than 150 dollars. he said he would keep it around there, since my credit was good. I was going to give my car as a down payment, him buying the car. We signed a ''prelim'' contract, being that we were going to be changing the financing since the payments were too high, Unfor, had no cooling off clause. Called for insurance, unable to secure ins. so left with not leaving the car or taking theirs. being a holiday weekend he called me 2 days later and told me to go to my bank for loan. Realized did not want the care tried to back out he said I signed contract. But we were going to change it and never receipt car so contract not fullfilled. Right?

Re: what can i do?

Sounds like you need to abide by the contract. And read a good book on how to buy cars: Never negotiate based on the amount of the monthly payment.
