Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Cable Television

Our cable television provider billed us for pay-per-view movies that we did not order. They were unable to solve the problem i.e., determine the source of the movie requests and so the problem continued. The total cost of the ''phantom'' movies was more than $500. Since they can't find the problem - they have denied us the option of ordering any movies. Since denying us a service that we pay for - can they descrimate against us by not providing full service? By the way, we have been good customers - never late on any payments.

Re: Cable Television

First of all, you aren't paying for it...that's why it is called pay per view. Second, you are receiving the services you are paying for...cable TV service. They don't have to offer you premium services and you don't have to buy them. It isn't discrimination, just a business decision. If you don't like it, get a satellite system.
