Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I canceled my wedding over a year in advance and had not received or requested any services yet. The site and the caterer are refusing to refund my deposits. There is not a clause in the contract regarding the return of deposits, can I still get it back?

If the contract does not address the issue, you should be entitled to get it back. Send a certified, return receipt demand letter (keep a copy), and set a deadline. If you don't see payment by that time, your option would be to file small claims lawsuits against each of them. You might report the site to the Better Business Bureau, too.
