Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Cancellation of Services/Memberships
Is there any legal obligation to make the cancellation of services easy (example: gym membership)? I.e. in addition to written notification for cancellation, a service provider must accept a fax and/or email as sufficient for cancellation of a service or membership.

Re: Cancellation of Services/Memberships
You need to read the contract to see what method of notice and what of time amount for the notice is required. If none is specified, then you should send the notice in such a way that you can document receipt of the notice (i.e. a fax confirmation sheet, certified mail, etc.).
