Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
car buyers bill of rights
My friend bought a used car from a dealer on 9/22/06. On the contract it states that CA does not have a cooling off period for cars. I thought the new car buyers bill of rights gave her 2 days. Is this something she should have requested before signing the contract? The problem is she agreed to pay too much at too high an interest rate. Does she have any options?

Re: car buyers bill of rights
The new law requires the auto dealer to offer the consumer an option contract which would allow the consumer to return the vehicle within 2 days (48 hours). If the option contract is not purchased (i.e., there is a price to be paid by the consumer to the dealer for the right to return the vehicle, ranging from $75.00 to $250.00, depending upon the price of the vehicle), then there is no right to return the vehicle.
