Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
New car dealer asking for more $$
I bought a new car 3 months ago. The sales contract was signed with a fixed monthly payment we agreed to. Now they send me a bill asking to pay an extra $72 for registration fee they miscalculated at that time, or they will send to collection. I don't know how this works, but what we agreed to pay monthly is what it is and I would not agree to pay a penny more at the time the contract was signed. Is there legal action I can pursue if they send it to collection which will screw up my credit rating.
Thanks.

I suppose that you can register the vehicle yourself and pay the extra $72 to the DMV. This is not part of the financing, but one of the costs of purchase. They're providing you with a service by registering the car for you.
