Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Used Car Purchase
We recently bought what was advertised as a 1993 Camry. Among many other problems (no smog cert.,which the DMV says is illegal, a breach of a warranty to return for engine problems), the car is a 1992. We have tried to solve the problems with the seller who has told us to do whatever we want and hung up on us. Help! Our mechanic's estimate starts at $1500.

Re: Used Car Purchase
If you bought from a private seller, this sounds like a small claims court action.
If you bought from a dealership, then there are more protections afforded you. You should see a local attorney to go over your options.
