car repossession

do i have the right to get my personal belongings out of a repossessed vehicle even though i am not the registered owner. i do have a release from the registered owner who at this present time is incarserated. the vehicle first was stored at an impound yard and then the bank came and repoed the vehicle. the bank refusses to speak with me in regards to getting my personal belongings although i have spoke with them one time in regards to this matter

If you had any personal property in a car that got towed or repossessed, it is GONE! I speak from bitter experience.

Some reputable towing/storage companies actually inventory personal property and keep it. Mr. Stone may be right be we successfully recovered personal property from a vehicle storage facility in San Diego. I believe a statute on point only requires them to maintain possession of such items for a limited period of time (60 days?).

Call the tow yard. There should be an inventory. Of course, even if you get it, the owner of the car could come back in the future and sue you claiming it is his property. Then it is your word against his.
